 All of our jewellery is handmade in Canada with passion and lasers. But what does that actually mean? Well, the passion part is obvious - we love what we do and take great care in the creation of all of our jewellery to ensure that you get the very best. So how about lasers? Our jewellery is made through a process called laser cutting, from materials such as Perspex (also known as acrylic), plastic and wood. We source a huge range of different coloured and patterned sheets of acrylic from the Canada and United States so that we can continue pushing boundaries and creating innovative, playful laser cut necklaces and earrings. 

Our laser machine cuts each piece (no matter how big or small) of our jewellery from these acrylic sheets, before assembling them by hand.

Tracey Weinrib - Founder and Creative Director

Tracey Weinrib founded Sassybirds in January 2025. Tracey has owned her own businesses for over 15 years and has a passion for fashion. Having lived abroad in the UK & Australia for over 20 years she returned to Canadian shores to launch Sassybirds; bringing affordable and creative jewellery to the US & Canada.

With a background in media and marketing, Tracey previously owned Kendi Jewlz based in the UK - a brand specializing in personalized jewellery in gold, silver and acrylic. UK celebs including Cheryl Cole, Holly Willougby, Sarah Harding and Florence Welch all wore Kendi Jewlz  pieces.

Replicating this success, Tracey launched SassyBirds to bring fun, creative and statement jewellery pieces to Canada and the US.
